Ear Bags

materials:
Small amount of Lion Brand Homespun, or other snuggly yarn
Size “J” hook

special instructions:
Dec – draw up a look in ea of next 2 sts, yo, draw through all 3 loops on hook

patterns:
Make 2

Ch 2
Rnd 1: 4 sc in 2nd ch from hook
Rnd 2: 2 sc in ea sc around; 8 sc
Rnd 3: (1 sc, 2 sc in next st) around; 12 sc

Rnd 6-7: sc around
Rnd 8: (half round) 3 sc, dec 1, 3 sc, dec 1
finish off
weave in ends

Double-Sided Scarf

materials:
size "I" hook
2 contrasting colors of yarn (I used Red Heart Soft White and Jewel Tone)

notes:
This pattern can be made to any size you would like, even an afghan. However, it will make a very thick, very heavy afghan. I don't recommend anything bigger than a small throw. Otherwise it will be very tiring to work on.

===>Always leave long tails at the beginning and end of rows. No need to join colors. Instead, simply draw up next color for last yo of the last st in the row. These yarn tails will become the fringe on the finished piece.

starting with Row 2, all stitches will be through 2 loops

C1 = color 1
C2 = color 2

pattern:
with C1; ch to desired length
Row 1: with C2; hdc across
Row 2: with C1; ch 1, (hdc in front loops only of prev. hdc row, and in un-used loops of beg. ch) across
Row 3: with C2; ch 1, (hdc in front loops only of prev. hdc row, and in un-used loops of prev. row of same color
rep Row 3 alternating colors, until desired width
Final Row: working through 2 loops as in prev. rows, sc across
Finish off but DO NOT weave in any ends
tie yarn tails in small groups (2 - 4) and trim to equal length to form fringe.

Chain Stitch Kerchief

Kerchief #1 will give a kerchief which is slightly larger than that of pattern #2, however, it has shorter tie strings. Kerchief #2 works up slightly quicker.

materials:

small amount of yarn
size "G" hook

pony beads (optional)

special instructions:

sl st in loop = slip stitch around ch that forms loop, rather than in a specific st
NOTE==>each row should decrease by one loop, meaning that where pattern refers to "until you cannot continue" you have just finished a row with only one loop.

optional beads should be threaded onto yarn before starting any work and pulled up just before the last yo of the stitch wherever desired. I usually put them along the center segment of the starting chain or in the sl st between all loops

Kerchief #1:

foundation: ch 31, starting in 2nd ch, sl st across, ch 126, starting in 2nd ch, 30 sl st
Row 1: (ch 10, sk 4 ch, sl st in next ch) across, last group before start ch (join with sl st through foundation ch as well as through very first starting ch); 19 loops
Row 2: ch 1, turn, sl st in 2nd - 5th ch of first loop, sl st in loop, (ch 10, sl st in next loop) across.
repeat row 2 until you can no longer continue; 19 rows total
finish: ch 1, turn sl st in 2nd ch of last loop, finish off
weave in ends

Kerchief #2:

foundation: ch 41, starting in 2nd ch, sl st across, ch 116, starting in 2nd ch, 40 sl st
Row 1: (ch 10, sk 4 ch, sl st in next ch) across, last group before start of chain (join with sl st through foundation ch as well as through very first starting ch); 15 loops
Row 2: ch 1, turn, sl st in 2nd - 5th ch of first loop, sl st in loop, (ch 10, sl st in next loop) across.
repeat row 2 until you can no longer continue; 15 rows total
finish: ch 1, turn sl st in 2nd ch of last loop, finish off
weave in ends
